Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit to Dougherty County Criminal History, including reading its material or using a search tool. Continued access means that you accept all of the terms below. The site is a private reference resource, not a Dougherty County or Georgia government service. If you disagree with any condition, stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned site is not affiliated with Dougherty County, Georgia, or any government agency. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide a service for employment, tenant, credit, or insurance decisions, or for any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site helps readers locate criminal-record resources in Dougherty County. It is neither a private-investigation business nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is an independent private reference site. It does not maintain official files, retrieve government records, perform official checks, or submit paperwork for a visitor.

Its role is to identify Dougherty County custodians and Georgia systems, including the sheriff, criminal courts, GBI and GCIC, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is permitted only if you agree not to:

  • Use a bot, scraper, or other automated retrieval tool against the pages
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any site system
  • Disrupt performance or interfere with another visitor's access
  • Use information to threaten, harass, or stalk a person
  • Rely on site content for housing, employment, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Violate federal, Georgia, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No site or linked-tool information may be used to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Misuse may be criminal. Georgia specifically prohibits using Georgia Sex Offender Registry information to commit a criminal offense against a registrant or to engage in illegal discrimination or harassment under O.C.G.A. § 42-1-12. Registry access supports lawful public-safety awareness, not vigilante conduct or blacklisting.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Our services and those of advertising partners are not designed to assess applicants, renters, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. You must not use site or linked-tool data to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from a screening provider that complies with the FCRA and is authorized for that use. GBI and GCIC procedures do not turn this site into such a provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General descriptions of Dougherty County records cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, or Georgia record-restriction law applies to an individual matter. Seek advice from a Georgia-licensed attorney.

6. No Warranties

All services and content are supplied "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, record restrictions, and access rules can change, leaving summaries incomplete or stale. Nothing published here is an official statement by a court, sheriff, GBI, GCIC, or another government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to courts, sheriff pages, Georgia agencies, legal-aid organizations, and outside search providers. We do not control a destination's availability, content, privacy practices, fees, or accuracy. Its own terms apply after you leave this site.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Dougherty County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, adapting, distributing, or creating derivative material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for losses caused by site use, including reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings arising from your site use or breach of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Georgia law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Georgia. Public-record access discussed elsewhere remains subject to the Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-77, and criminal-history dissemination remains governed by O.C.G.A. § 35-3-34.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions. A revised version takes effect when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
